Storyline:
A Silent Voice is maybe my third or all-time favorite anime film. It appears at first to be a straightforward romantic film. Moreover, it is much more than just romantic. Simply expressed, it is a psychological analysis of how bullying affects both the bully and the bullied. But it’s not like one of those bullying prevention videos they make kids watch. It’s a much more complex story with lovely writing and heart. Bullying is wrong, but that’s not all it says. It does a fantastic job of expressing bullying in all of its forms and effects on individuals, as well as addressing its causes. Let’s address all the factors that make it what it is, and I’ll provide my whole evaluation at the end.
