He did his hero training regiment every day for 3 years. This consisted of 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and a 10 km run every day.

He would also eat 3 meals a day, and never use A/C or heat in the summer or winter to strengthen his mind.

Although the training regiment seems easy and simple, it was revealed that it was very intense for Saitama causing his body to ache, vomit blood, and nearly kill him. After training for 1 and a half years, Saitama went completely bald and achieved super strength. He then trained for another year and a half before becoming a hero for a hobby. It should be pointed out that Saitama wouldn’t take breaks in between workouts and he often fought Mysterious Beings that appeared during his training.

However, the underlying reason why Saitama become so strong was he removed his limiter. The limiter is the natural growth limit that every living being has that limits how strong they can become or how much they can grow. No matter how much effort one puts in, one can never surpass their limit. Saitama, on the other hand, put in so much effort that he somehow achieved the impossible and broke his limiter completely.
